The DCBRIP was approved by the Board of County Commissioners in June 2011. A half cent sales tax to support the implementation of the plan was approved by voters in November, 2011. The plan proposes new and improved bus service throughout the county as well as a light rail transit system between Durham and Orange counties and a commuter rail system between Durham and Wake counties.
