My Brother's Keeper Durham is proud to host a 2017 Cities United Regional Convening, Urgency of Now: Shattering Biases. Building Equity. The event is scheduled March 13-14, 2017 at Durham Convention Center in Downtown Durham. Day one of the two-day convening will include a half day focused on career exploration for boys and young men of color, ages 11-15. The career exploration event is an opportunity to expose young men to career pathways in the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) fields and to provide connections between what they learn in school, future scholarship and career fields. Day two will offer MBK and Cities United communities from North and South Carolina an opportunity to gain the necessary tools to incorporate a racial equity lens into local policy, build youth leadership, and measure the impact of local capacity building.
